World’s first Australian Innovation allows real-time traffic visibility of 10Gbps networks on COTS hardware

Telstra Vantage, Melbourne, Australia, 21 September 2016.

Innovative traffic visibility from Melbourne based Sinefa allows real time traffic inspection of high throughput 10Gbps links on Commercial off the shelf (COTS) hardware.

Sinefa’s goal is to reduce network management cost and increase user productivity and satisfaction.

“This latest innovation changes the model for high speed networks from specialist and expensive hardware with high deployment costs to commodity hardware and zero configuration deployment.  With a simple, zero commitment, subscription based pricing model this fundamentally changes the options for driving out network management costs and dramatically improving user productivity” Sinefa co-founder Chris Siakos stated.

The explosion in the use of cloud-based services is offering the potential for significant business value and productivity gains.  However, even with 10Gbps links becoming common place amongst enterprise, government and education, the lack of traffic insights and management can lead to core business activities contending with non-critical and recreational bandwidth.

Initiatives like Australia’s NBN are further increasing capacity at the edge and subsequently upstream at aggregation points. Visibility options for these types of high-speed links has traditionally been cumbersome and expensive as they rely on specialised high-end networking hardware.

Sinefa’s 10Gbps SF950 hardware probe, is based on standard Intel based architecture and can be deployed at high bandwidth edge links and multi-tenanted aggregation points.  Configuration can be in-line or out of path with copper and fiber interface options. “We’re providing 10Gbps line rate visibility at Layer 7 on standard Intel architecture which can be scaled out for networks beyond 10Gbps bandwidth.  These innovations will also deliver benefits across our entire range of network management services.” said Chris

“The Sinefa SF950 providing visibility at 10Gbps is an important piece of kit when it comes to providing the ultimate connectivity experience to thousands of fans at events like Coachella.” said James Berry, from tourtech.com, the leader in WiFi connectivity for large events across the US.
