Innovative Australian software developer Sinefa scoops first prize in Harvard Business School New Ventures Competition, Asia Pacific region

Award recognises success in bringing innovation in network management to global users

Melbourne, Australia, March 22nd 2016. Innovative Melbourne-based software company Sinefa is delighted to announce that it has been awarded first prize for the Asia Pacific region in Harvard Business School’s New Ventures Competition.

The competition, open to companies that have at least one Harvard Alumnus as a founder or as a C-level employee, is designed to celebrate innovation and inspiration among the Harvard alumni community. It is organised on a regional basis, with the winners of the 14 local competitions being invited to Boston for the finale on April 26th. The winner of each regional event is awarded $50,000, as well as being eligible for other benefits.

The judges evaluated the potential for economic success, as well as the likelihood of achieving that success, based upon a number of criteria, such as the strength of the plans and the team’s experience. Sinefa delivered an outstanding presentation which resulted in it being chosen as the leading entry in the Asia Pacific region.

“Sinefa is all about innovation but it’s crucial to demonstrate how we are moving from innovation to bring the benefits of our solution to a wider audience,” commented Chris Siakos, co-founder of Sinefa. “The fact that the award specifically recognises this evolution, from idea to commercialisation, is particularly pleasing and we’re honoured to have been chosen to represent Asia Pacific in the final. Our growing customer base sees significant, ongoing productivity gains from using Sinefa, which means real business value for them and for us.”
